Months. Years. It's all the same when you're 5.

Madison Jane Maynerich is five years old. She lives in a make-believe world where everything is real. She wears a Cinderella dress at least four days a week. She has tea parties and Royal Balls daily. When she learned about the Revolutionary War, and then her mother took her on a field trip to Boston, she was worried that the Red Coats would shoot them, and she would die. She has an imaginary boyfriend that she fights over with her sister Alli, who is six. None of us are sure just why they don't imagine up another boyfriend so they don't have to share when it is time to go to the Royal Ball! Her mother homeschools her, and one day last week she showed up at school as the Disney's "Enchanted" princess - Giselle. It was Alli's costume from last Halloween. "Oh, mom!" she sighed, "You are SO lucky to have a princess in your school!"

Madison and Grandma Nancy have been best friends for about five years now.
They miss each other very much!

A few days ago, Madison had a conversation with her mother.
"Mommy, grandpa and grandma are going to be on their mission for three years, right?"
"Yes, Madison."
"Can we go see them in Nutah?"
"No sweetie, not today."
"Well that's okay, because they're almost to come home. Their mission is only for three years, and they've already been gone for two."
