Six days before transfers, and all through the house,
The AP's were working with computer and mouse.
The map on the wall showed the districts and zones
But we've also got cars and apartments and phones
With forty-some elders and sisters awaiting
Their visas from countries and anticipating
Departures that come with a notice so short
The route to the airport's our favorite new sport!
Which brings our sum total to two forty two
Great elders and sisters who need things to do!
This sister speaks English. Does he speak Burmesee?
He doesn't know Spanish. She can't speak Chinese.
Will these get along or just have a big fight?
Will these sleep all day and then stay up all night?
Can these elders ride bikes, or will they complain?
Has this sister been out long enough she can train?
With ninety-four places where people can sleep,
We'll just have to pack them in three and four deep.
They plot and they plan and they scheme and they pray
Should this one go? And should this one stay?
So there's Elder Calderwood lost, deep in thought
While dear Elder Green ponders, should? Or should not?
They think and they work and they don't sleep or eat
Cuz transfers are just one amazing, huge feat!
Thank goodness for one blessing - big in this game:
The Pres's companion is always the same!

Look out Gramma Holderness! She's got competition for Christmas poems now!
