July 28, 2013 - Mission Report

On Sunday, July 28, 2013, Bruce and I were asked to speak in Sacrament Meeting in the Wilmington 2nd Ward and give a report of our mission.  It was an assignment we looked forward to, and yet struggled with.  How could we possibly convey all the feelings, testimony, miracles, blessings, opportunities, love, heartache, triumph, dismay, emotion, joy and gratitude that we had experienced over the past three years.  How do we even begin to explain the love we have for the missionaries who served with us?  How do we share the knowledge we've received that our Father in Heaven, His Son and the millions of angels are watching over us and protecting us and guiding us every single day of our lives?  Our words were certainly inadequate, but once again the spirit carried our testimonies to the hearts of those who were willing to receive them.  One of the great joys of the weekend was that many from our mission came to share the day with us.  They all joined together to sing "Up! Awake! Ye Defenders of Zion!"  Which was all we needed to bring immediate tears to our eyes.  How will we ever repay our Father for the blessing of serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission.  There is no way to even begin.  But we joy in the love of those who served with us, and those who stayed behind to support us in so many, many ways.
