Ready for summer swimming at grandma's pool.
The past few days have been toasty warm here in Hockessin - in the 90's in fact, which is rather unusual for April. Be that as it may, the pool was open and the sun was warm and it seemed like the perfect time to go ahead and begin summer. Usually, I'm the first lunatic in the pool in early April, but it seems like my pool-rat genes have indeed been passed to the upcoming generation. Alli Bally-Boo Kay Maynerich was the first one to dive into the pool and say hello, summer! While I was still waiting for my legs to go numb in the low 60 degree water, so that I could say it wasn't too bad, Alli was diving in! Madison wasn't too far behind her. Adri did a couple of quick steps into the pool, and a couple of quicker steps back out. Juliet got her toes wet and that was about it. Loni, Annie and Taya stayed out of the water entirely, although Taya did appear on deck in a very fashionable bubble top swim suit with matching hat. So, April 27th is the date to beat! Anyone dive in sooner than that?
Alli adjusts her goggles...
...takes the diving stance...
...then jumps feet first into the water!
Hardly any splash! A perfect 10!
...and right back out!
Juliet's just going with the toes. Who can blame her?

Those girls definitely have me beat - I don't plan to be seen in a swimsuit until this little one makes her entrance into the world. :) I can't believe it's been in the 90s there!
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking, "A year ago I was on a Disney cruise..."
Congrats on your pool entry. You beat us. We are slated for first week of May. As a side noted, we had your 90 degrees last weekend and sent it that way. It was followed by three days of steady rain. Get your umbrellas ready!!
