Family Reunion

After a slow, but exciting drive, on August 1st we arrived in Idaho Falls, where we picked up some additional travelers and added another car to our entourage. Jarom, Annie, Adri, Juliet and Luke had flown out to go to the Holderness reunion with us. Sunday afternoon, after going to church, we were quite excited to start on the last leg of our trip to Clayton. We were all thrilled to pull up to the May Family Ranch and see so many family members there ready to greet us! Lonnie and Dave had arranged for a wonderful place for the reunion. The mountain scenery was breathtaking, the accommodations were my kind of camping, the weather was cooperative, the lake was refreshing, the hot springs were fabulous, the water slide was exhilarating, the food was delicious and the company was PERFECT!

The little girls loved “this place where all our cousins live”. Since everyone was already there when we arrived, they just figured that everyone but us must live there all the time! Alli loved being one of the “big” kids, having so many friends to play with, the water slide and all the uncles who would take her down it, and being able to wander around without her mother. Madison simply adored Nikki, and shadowed her the entire time we were there. Nikki was very sweet to spend so much time entertaining and playing with the little girls. Taya, Jenna and Luke loved having so many new adults to make a fuss over them and tell them how cute they were. Adri, for whatever unknown reason, loved that mangy old flea-bag of a dog that was hanging around the camp. No matter how many times we cringed and told her not to touch the dog, every time we saw her she had her arms around the scruffy critter.

Once again we were reminded that no matter where our Holderness family gets together, we will always have a wonderful time. We are so blessed to have each other! How very much we missed all those who couldn’t make it this year! Thanks, Braun Family, for all your hard work in putting
together a very successful reunion! We really do appreciate it!
