Skipping Winter

It was feeling much too cold in Delaware already this winter, and the winter had barely begun! A few of us decided to do something about that. We packed our suitcases with shorts and swim suits, and showed up at the Philadelphia Airport. "Where is it warm?" we asked the ticket agent behind the counter. "Grand Cayman," she replied, in a grumpy voice. We decided that she was so grumpy because she had to stay in Philadelphia, and could not go to the place that was warm. We felt sorry for her, but not that sorry. We bought 9 1/2 tickets for Cayman Islands. The 9 tickets were for Bruce, Nancy, Jim, Karen, Patrick, Kris, Skiffington, Jarom and Alixa. The 1/2 ticket was for Jenna, who is just a half-pint anyway, and doesn't need a whole ticket. We found the plane that said "This Way To Sunshine" on it, and climbed aboard. We were all quite excited to leave the cold behind! Jenna was excited to get the first stamp in her new passport.

As soon as we arrived in the Cayman Islands, we smelled the wonderful island aromas, and heard the wonderful island music, and felt the wonderful island sunshine, and we knew we had made an excellent decision! Bruce and Nancy liked the palm trees and the pool in the back yard. Jenna liked the Dove Ice Cream Bars and bare feet. Kris and Patrick liked their new million dollar boat.

Jenna liked the sand and the beach, too, until she got sunblock in her eyes. Then she cried and cried. It was very sad.

We all got on Kris and Patrick's new million dollar boat and went out into the warm, blue Caribbean waters of the bay to swim with the sting rays. They are gentle and friendly, with soft underbellies that are fun to touch. It was simply delightful! Jim showed us his tattoo and told us stories of the old days, when he was in the O-Negative Gang. Skiffington and Alixa found conch shells and starfish. We all sat around reading on beach chairs while we listened to the rolling surf. We might just skip winter this year, and never come back.

It's pretty tempting.

Stay where you are for awhile. I understand it is still cold in the east. Have a great time and have a great new year.

  4. You are aware you have two posts with nothing written on them, right? Cute vacation pictures though. My favorite is the one of Jenna on the beach. It reminds me of Adri in Mexico.
