More October

October was an especially fun month for weddings. After Monique's wedding, we went back home and prepared for Emma & Josh's wedding on the 23rd. Emma has been a friend of the girls since middle school. She was baptized about 3 years ago, sent Josh on a mission, waited for him, and then they got married! They are some of our very favorite people and we were so excited for them! Kristi & Jolene flew in from Utah, Nate & Kenzie drove up from Richmond, Alixa flew in from Tennessee, and the whole Winn family was represented at their reception. The wedding was beautiful and Emma was an exquisite bride. Josh looked ok too. It was so fun to have an excuse to have all my grandbabies (and my regular babies) home for a weekend!

I specifically brought Alixa into town because I needed my grandkids Halloween picture. Since last Halloween, we've added 5 new babies, so this year's picture was a little more work. However, it turned out pretty cute, and we managed to get ADORABLE individuals of everyone! Not bad for 9 grandkids under 5!

My Mom & Dad arrived on Tuesday, October 27, looking like the seasoned travelers they are. They had conquered the cross country trip without any trouble at all, weaving mom's wheelchair through the pedestrian traffic and hauling dad's V-Pap around like they were on an afternoon picnic! We were so glad to see them! When we arrived home, Alli and Madison were waiting at the front door, and when they saw the Excursion pull into the driveway, they jumped up and down on the front porch with excitement; they were so delighted to see their grandpa and grandma Holderness in Delaware!
The next four days we did our best to keep up with the geriatric tourists, and it wasn't easy! Mom and dad were amazing! They were up at the crack of dawn every day, and didn't stop for a nap ever! I was impressed by dad's improvement in strength and balance. Anyway, Thursday we went on a fabulous tour of Washington DC, compliments of Kyle, Skiffington & Jeffrey.

We took in Gettysburg and won the Civil War on Friday, then toured the Brandywine Battlefield and won the Revolutionary War on Saturday.

After the war, we went trick or treating with Alli, Madison, Taya & Hailey. It was a delightful way to end the day and the month.
