Okay, so this is a little backward, and pretty much the opposite of how things are supposed to be in life, but today we took our parents to the Missionary Training Center and dropped them off. Yeah, we know. Usually, PARENTS take their KIDS and drop them off at the MTC - sending them off on missions to exotic places in the world, giving them hugs and kisses and telling them to be good and write home, reminding them to mind their manners, and waving good-bye as the children pull their luggage along behind them into the MTC. Not us. Before Kristi went to work at 7:30 this morning, and while Rob and I were still in our pajamas, we trekked on over to the BYU campus and put mom and dad into the MTC. They did pretty well. They didn't even cry. Mom was proudly wearing Loni's "Sister Winn" tag from when Loni went on a mission to Idaho. Actually, they seemed pretty excited! But then, the rules are a lot more lax for the old folks than they are for the young missionaries.....mom and dad had a lunch break about 11:00 a.m., and we all met at Mimi's Cafe for lunch!

And here are our parents, pointing out the Salt Lake City Mission on the giant world map.

Of course, before they could go into the MTC, we had to take mom on one more shopping trip to the mall to make sure that she was dressed according to the missionary standards. It is our policy NEVER to let a good excuse to go shopping go to waste! We are our mother's daughters!

How fun it must have been to take your parents to the MTC. And how nice that they could have a lunch break and spend time at the mall...sounds like the rules aren't too bad. :)
