Trunky Temple Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Time to send missionaries home. Again. It seems like every six weeks goes by faster than the last! This particular group of missionaries got to go to the temple for the last time together on a beautiful spring day!

Elder and Sister Chase, our Car Czar and Mail Lady from the mission office. We will certainly miss them!! Sister Taylor, Elder Casey, Elder Rohbock, Elder Marriott, Elder Dominguez, Elder Hardwick, Elder Bills, Elder Garcia and Elder Blackburn. Each and every one of them, mature, responsible and refined after many months of service....well, sort of.

I'm not actually sure that Elder Chase is going to miss changing all the oil, rescuing missionaries with flat tires, inspecting the cleanliness of the cars, dealing with the dreaded TIWI people, and taking all those reports of how a missionary can stand in back of his companion, who is driving, and wave him enthusiastically to keep on coming, until he directs him to back the car into some stationary object! (You have NO IDEA how many times this happens!!!) But he has done all that and more, and we will miss him.
There were some vagabonds hanging out near where we were taking our pictures outside the temple. President Winn and his former assistans, Elder Evans and Elder Dominguez, as well as the new assistant, Elder Salisbury. A motley looking crew if there ever was one.
Seeing double. Elder Marriott's twin brother came with his parents to pick up Elder Marriott. Our Elder Marriott is just completing his mission. The imposter Elder Marriott will be leaving on his mission in a few weeks. It was a little confusing!
Elder Garcia
Sister Taylor and Sister Winn
Elder Dominguez, Elder Casey and Elder Bills
Elder Hardwick
Elder Rohbock
Elder Blackburn

Then, we went out to lunch!
Can any of us possibly fit one more bite of food into our mouths????

El jefe gets ready to move on with life!

And at the end of their missions, they all just walk away and its over.
Except not really, because these are Utah Salt Lake City missionaries. The experiences, the friendships and the memories are tucked away in their hearts, which will never be the same. And they know for the rest of their lives that they served in THE mission.
