The gang is all here and the transfers begin. We had better get some Cracker-Jack companionships going here, because there is a lot of work left to do this year!
Unfortunately, we're going to have to let Elder Partridge go home. Elder Thomas will just have to pick up the slack.
Some fine missionaries hanging out here: Elder Morales, Elder Vanegas and Elder Ma'asi.
There is a new Assistant to the President helping out with the Zone Leader assignments. Welcome, Elder Calderwood! You can tell by the huge smile on his face that he has no idea what is going on, or the pandemonium that is about to ensue. He has no idea the problems he will be asked to solve today. He has no idea that he will soon have a very big headache. He has no idea that he will never sleep again. By the end of this day, he will be dazed, confused and exhausted! Elder Byrd will say good-bye and head back to the field to train a new Baby Byrd. He is also wearing a huge smile. He gets to go to sleep tonight.
Elder Green is not smiling. He knows what he's in for. In fact, he looks like he has a headache already, and it's only 10:00!
Now we announce to the Zone Leaders who their companions will be, and they will all do different variations of the happy dance.

There is a new zone this transfer. It is called the "Dead Zone". In mission lingo, when you come into the mission, your trainer is called your father. You are the son. You have siblings. You "kill" someone when you are their last companion before they go home. When you go home, you have "died". Very odd, all of it. Whatever. Anyway, the missionaries going home are all "dying" so they made themselves a sign and called themselves part of the "Dead Zone". It's either really cute, or very morbid, depending on how you look at it. Either way, we've spent the last 18 months with these missionaries, and we love them like our own kids, and we will miss them terribly! And we think they are adorable!
