Our Mission Tour: August 16-17, 2011

The leaders of the church send a representative to each mission every year on a mission tour. Last year they sent Elder and Sister Evans. Elder Evans evaluated us, and I suppose since we were still new on the job, he forgave our many shortcomings and let us stay, hoping that we would improve as time went on. This year, Elder and Sister Johnson visited the mission. They were just as nice as could be. They gave us some good advice, taught the missionaries and enjoyed a couple of days in our mission. We were worried that our grace period might be over, and we might be relieved of our positions and sent back to Delaware, but that didn't happen. We were rather confused as to why not. Although Bruce does a pretty good job, I am certainly less than competent, and not the least bit conventional. Just before Elder Johnson left us, we found out why not. He commented at the end of his mission tour evaluation and wrap-up, "Well, we sure enjoyed our time here. Next week I will be going to some training to find out exactly what it is that I'm supposed to do when I go on a mission tour, and what in particular I am looking for when I come!" How lucky are we?!?!?! Sure hope our luck keeps holding out! In the meantime, here are some fun pictures of our entire mission getting together over two days:

Evidently, Sister Johnson does not know how

to do a cheesy Facebook grin,

but I am very good at it!

Elder Johnson is such a good sport.

Our missionaries are such hams!

Even our senior service missionaries got into the act.

They are such an invaluable part of our mission!

We love them.

Are the sisters just adorable, or what?

It's just crazy that they let the inmates run the asylum...

If you aren't serving here in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission with us, you should just be jealous.

It's the best!
