October 17, 2012 - New Missionaries

Our days of thirty or forty new missionaries arriving at the same time are over for a while, and it's awfully fun to get a batch of new missionaries when I can remember all of their names!!  We had just five new Elders and one sweet Sister arrive in our Utah Salt Lake City Mission on the morning of Wednesday, October 17th.   It was delightful that they had been trained in the MTC by our very own former Elder Vogt, who sent us this picture in the days before they arrived.  Sadly, Elder Espinal was off somewhere studying the Spanish Preach My Gospel, but here we have Elder Beard, Elder Alexander, Brother Vogt, (how weird is that!?!?) Elder Serrao, Sister Rogers  and Elder Vickery.
How funny to see them drive into the parking lot in a little tiny bus, and begin to unload their stuff.

We had them drop their suitcases inside the office,
and then we took them to the mission home for breakfast.

During breakfast, President Winn talked to them individually, and then we were ready to go back to the mission office and meet the other 230-something missionaries in the mission!
Sister Briana Rogers

Her brother, Elder Ackley already serves in our mission.
How fun is that!!

Welcome to the mission.  We're glad to have you here!
We think you'll fit right in!
