It was the storm of the century in many places, touted as a Frankenstorm. On Trimble Turn in Hockessin, Delaware, we prepared for the worst. We tied things down outside. We brought anything that couldn't be tied down inside. We made sure the generator worked and we had plenty of propane. Kristi and I drove back from Pittsburgh a day early, so that we would not be driving during the storm. We made sure we had flashlights and batteries and all the essentials like drinking water and plenty of Double Stuf Oreos and Peanut M&M's and milk. The state of Delaware declared a state of emergency, so nobody had to go to work or school and Bruce was happy because we weren't allowed to go shopping. So we hunkered down and waited...
...and waited...
...and waited...
...and waited...
...and waited....
...but mostly it just rained, so instead we played.
JD complained that it was the worst excuse for a hurricane he'd ever seen, but the rest of us had a marvelous time, and we loved it! We know that other places on the east coast got hammered, and we feel really bad for them, but we had a marvelous time!
