New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, we had the whole mission to the mission office for a party.  The whole mission, that is, except Wyoming.  Wyoming Zone gets a really bad deal sometimes.  It's not that we don't love the missionaries who are serving out there, really it isn't!  It's just that the roads are bad and we didn't want them driving back late that night.  Last year we invited them, and they stayed overnight in the mission home and drove back the next day.  But this year, December 31st was a Saturday, and they needed to be home for church on Sunday, so they had to miss out.  For all of you who missed the party, I'm sorry.  There was one other companionship who didn't get to come to the party.  Sister Greenwood was riding her bike and got hit by a car earlier in the evening, and spent the entire night in the ER with her companion, Sister Daw.  Sister Greenwood is an amazing, strong woman and watched over by a legion of angels.  The car hit her, she rolled across the hood, and walked away!  She was sore for quite a few days, sort of like she had been run over by a car or something, but she never missed a day of working for the Lord.

At the party, we consumed HUGE quantities of food, played four square, human foosball, dodge ball, board games, hung out, sang, visited, had a visit from our very own Elder Hunt/Santa, had a great tug of war, and we would have had a Nerf war if I had known that the Nerf guns needed batteries and we would have made lots of noise at midnight (which was actually a little after 9:15) if the 200 noise makers I had purchased had actually MADE noise and not just blown in and out!  But the missionaries are a forgiving bunch, and we all had a great time together welcoming in the new year!
