Visa Waiters - December 14, 2011

They are supposed to go to Argentina, Brazil and Spain.  But the visas haven't come yet.  They've completed their training in the Missionary Training Center in Provo.  Still they wait.  So, on the 14th of December, just ten days before Christmas, they come to us.  We are excited and delighted to have them!  We welcome them with open arms, add them to companionships, send them out into the mission and watch for the miracles that will happen.  There is always a reason that our visa waiters stop by in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission before they go to their final destination.  There is someone to teach that only they can connect with, or something they need to learn.  We watch them learn and grow, and then, sadly, we have to send them on their way.  Sometimes they are with us for days, sometimes for weeks.  Sometimes, we get lucky and we get to keep them for months.  But always, we tell them that even when they get to their "other" mission, don't forget that we loved the first, and they will always be a Utah Salt Lake City Missionary, and they will always be in our hearts.
