May 15, 2013 - Bountiful Zone - Salt Lake City Cemetery Tour

The Salt Lake City Cemetery is in the Avenues of Salt Lake City.  Approximately 120,000 persons are buried in the cemetery. Early pioneers, and many religious leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints lie in the cemetery. It encompasses over 250 acres and is the largest city-operated cemetery in the U.S.  The first burial occurred on September 27, 1847, when George Wallace buried his child, Mary Wallace. The burial was two months after the Mormon pioneers had settled the Salt Lake Valley.  It is rich in history, and with our ever trusty guide, Paul Thomas Smith, we set out to learn some of that history with the Bountiful Zone.
