July 24, 2012: New Missionaries

I don't know how the time goes so fast, but another six weeks has rolled by and it's time for transfers again.  That means new missionaries come up from the MTC in Provo on the big white bus, and some of our old missionaries finish up their missions and head on home.  Usually, just before we get new missionaries, we have a Trunky Temple Tuesday, so that the departing missionaries can have one last day in the temple.  Since the Salt Lake Temple was closed for cleaning and repairs for several weeks in July, our July departing missionaries had their Trunky Temple Tuesday in June, with the missionaries who were going home then.

So, I rounded up the Salt Lake Zone missionaries in the mission home and sent them on their way, tidied up a bit, and headed over to the mission office to meet the bus and welcome in the newest Utah Salt Lake City Missionaries.  There would be thirty of them all together, but just half of them would arrive on Tuesday night and stay over night in the mission home.  The other half would arrive early the next morning.

Soon the big white bus arrived, with brand new, spit polished, shiny shoed, exuberant Elders inside!  We were just delighted!

So I guess I'll just unpack and stay for two years.....
