Transfers: January 26, 2011

Freezing cold and wet snow outside, it was time to be inside for most of transfers on this winter day!! We gathered the migrant missionaries inside the chapel and President Winn gave them a bit of instruction. Then I got to talk to them about the epidemic of bed bugs that is spreading across the nation - AND IN OUR MISSIONARY APARTMENTS! By the end of my five minutes, every young missionary in the audience was unconsciously scratching and squirming. Hopefully, they will be careful and not cart the nasty stow aways from apartment to apartment with them. We've had a few apartment infestations, but we're thinking (hopeful) that we have eradicated the beasts! Oh the joys of being a mission mom! Whodathunk?!?! Anyway, the assistants followed me and brought the spirit right back into the chapel with a wonderful presentation on faith, and our entire missionary force headed back out to the parking lot to find out who their new companion was, march back onto the streets of Salt Lake City - and I think the world if they could - ready to convert thousands to the gospel of Jesus Christ! Their plan was to go forward with faith in February! I really don't think there is any stopping them!

Elder Beck has been called to be a trainer and a District Leader in this last transfer before he goes home, so we have a new Assistant to the President, Elder Wesley Evans from Illinois. Elder Dominguez and Elder Evans will be at the helm now, and we will miss Elder Beck.

Assistants with Attitude.

And then there were two.
