It was time for us to get some new missionaries again, since we had to send some home. This was the largest group of new missionaries we'd ever had! Twenty-eight new Elders and Sisters! It seemed a bit overwhelming to take them all at once on Wednesday morning like we usually do. It would have been too hard for President Winn to have the time to interview each of them individually. So we opted for plan B. Plan B included bringing them in in installments. So, on Tuesday night, we had the MTC send up the fourteen English speaking Elders. We picked them up at the mission office about 6:00 pm, left their luggage at the office and brought them to the mission home, where they would be interviewed by President Winn and then spend the night. Enjoying pizza and chatting together, getting to know them a little bit, listening to them play the piano and sing together - it was a wonderful evening! We are excited to have these fourteen wonderful young men in our mission!
The Big White Bus from the MTC arrives.
Elder Napeahi is the first one off the bus.
Elder Gordon, Elder Cluff and Elder Moore take a look around.
President Winn welcomes Elder Steven Smith
and Elder Mauinatu.
Elder Jeffrey Ulberg comes to us from Missouri.
The luggage collection begins.
Then we welcome:
Elder Matthew Zalar, from Virginia,
Elder Jamal Napeahi from Hawaii
Elder Evan Gordon from Washington
Elder Steven Smith from California
Elder Desmond Ahwireng from Michigan
Elder Jason Cooper from West Virginia
Elder Cotton Lamoreaux from Arizona
Elder Jonas Moore from Arizona
Elder Larson, Assistant to the President, helps out too.
Elder Connor Hearn from New York
Elder David Cluff from Missouri
Elder Purcell, Assistant to the President, wearing his best face
Elder Purcell certainly exemplifies all the dignity an Assistant to the President should have!
Good thing we love him so much!
