May 2, 2012 - Transfers!

Along with a giant class of new freshmen, there is something else different about transfers this time.  We have three new Assistants to the President!  Elder Larson has worked tirelessly for the past four and a half months, and we are letting him rest.....well, as much rest as you get being a Zone Leader!  He's done a great job, and we really appreciate his service. 

Elder Purcell will continue to be an Assistant, along with Elder Vogt. 

Elder McNees and Elder Tui will also be new Assistants, learning how to run things in a mission as quickly as they possibly can, because in just two months, they will be the Assistants in a brand new mission!  Yes indeed, the Utah Salt Lake City Mission is being split.  There are so many wonderful people in this area who are prepared and willing to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that beginning July 1, 2012, there will be a brand new mission called the Utah Salt Lake City West Mission created right out of us!  Elder Tui and Elder McNees will be leading the pack!  We will have to give up about seventy of our missionaries, which will only be sort of like putting a third of our children up for adoption, or ripping our hearts out, but we are also very excited for them.  A brand new mission will be a challenge for sure, but also a grand opportunity to grow our faith and diligence and testimonies.

But for right now, and the next two months, we've got four Assistants to the President,

a mission to run, and transfers to get on with!

The Tooele Zone - Elder Ramos and Elder Hill

The Hunter Zone - Elder Homer and Elder Humphries

The Magna Zone - Elder Herbert and Elder Clerveau

The Granger Zone - Elder Dodge and Elder Sanders

The Dead Zone - Elder Fuentes, Elder Romero, Elder Flaquer and Elder Torres

with all the "dying" missionaries who are going home!

Still, there are a few Defenders of Zion left.
