October 21, 2012 - Sunday Dinner at Grandma's

Sawyer Adams Graham Bennett had the nerve to arrive in this world on September 26th, which was shortly before General Conference and Transfers.  Silly boy!  So that meant that even though he was Kristi's first baby, and even though Kristi and David had only just moved into a brand new town three weeks before he was born and knew nobody, I couldn't travel east to help out with the new baby until after General Conference and transfers.  So Jolene, with her six months of experience in motherhood, took her baby and drove from Hockessin to Pittsburgh to help out with the new baby.  Sawyer happens to be about the best baby in the world, and everything worked out just fine.  Which only goes to show that nobody really needs me anyway, they all get along just fine.  But it makes me feel better if I get to go hold the new baby, so on October 19th, I flew east to "help" with Sawyer.  Which is really just code for visit all the kids and grandkids.  It was a marvelous trip, which started with a wonderful Sunday dinner around my kitchen table in Hockessin, one of my favorite places in the world.
