When Transfers Are Over

Being an Assistant to the President is an exhausting job.  First of all, you've got your own area to take care of - people to find, lessons to teach, work to be done.  Then you've got to stay on top of the other 200 missionaries in the mission and take about a million phone calls every day.  You've got to prepare for transfers, get the cars assigned to the right companionships - making sure that at least one of them has a valid driver's license - and getting the missionaries into the right apartments, keys exchanged with the previous missionaries who lived there......and on and on and on.   Then, President Winn makes this huge and unreasonable demand on the Assistants.  He gives them the impossible job.  He gives it to them because, after years of trying, he knows that he cannot do it.  He tells them, "Your job is to know where Sister Winn is at all times."   Then he tests them on a regular basis.  He asks, "Do you know where Sister Winn is?"  They never do.  Neither does he.  Quite frankly, most of the time, neither does she.  Anyway, all in all, it's a rough job being an Assistant.  Sometimes, when transfers are over, they just crash and burn!
